Abidjan: Not Monrovia

I regret almost every blog post I wrote during the month I spent doing research in Liberia for my undergraduate thesis.  But nonetheless, here are some “fresh off the boat” thoughts on Cote d’Ivoire:

Abidjan does not feel like Monrovia.  In the city, small roads and highways are perfectly paved.  There are tons of tall buildings.  Flying in at night, the city is bright.  Direct evidence of the war is hard to see.
