Three weeks ago I wrote a post on whether or not Ellen Johnson Sirleaf ever apologized for supporting Charles Taylor in the 1980s. I came to the conclusion that she hadn’t, despite many news reports saying she had.

Do you think it's because she doesn't want to further alienate Charles Taylor's supporters, who I gather are still many in number?
I'd love to see you write a post about how/why Taylor still has such a large support base in Liberia.
Nudge. Nudge.
I think its because she knows Liberians are not foolish enough to believe that she contributed only ten(10) thousand US dollars to the N.P.F.L war efforts. Also, giving and apology would be worthless as she's got what she's always wanted-The Liberian presidency- at all cost .

The Liberian people knew that the president supported Mr. Taylor at the early stage of his "revolution" and they voted for her overwhelmingly. This is a clear indication that they want to move forward.
