Assessment of GPRS services

John Etherton, who works with George Tech in Liberia, has a useful post about GPRS services in Liberia for the technologically curious/inclined.  Parts of the post are over my head, but he sums up his analysis in layman’s language:

On the whole I think things are moving along very nicely for data in Liberia.  Coverage is still limited to major population centers, and the service is still out of the reach or most Liberians, but being able to send data quickly around the country does make it possible for aid organizations, donors, and the Liberian government to make decisions with timely and accurate data.  And this is good for everyone.
