A. Leslie Lummeh is the Liberian behind the funny and educational Daily Observer cartoons that I used to post on my blog more regularly.

I like the one to the left, which is from yesterday. Over the past two years many of Lummeh’s cartoons try to shift responsibility from the government, which is equally blamed and credited for many things it has no control over. If you can’t read the speech bubbles, it says:

Woman with baby: Everything is expensive these days, even pepper?

Market woman: Yes oh! The government is trying to kill us, it never used to be like this.

Woman with baby: The government isn’t responsible for this! Crude oil price is going up every day on the world market.
