Excellent New York Times article about a confidential UN report on Taylor’s hidden financial assets. Does anyone know if this report is online anywhere? Also, I am confused about Taylor’s decision to use counsel provided by the Special Court for Sierra Leone. If the Special Court proves that he has considerable resources, will he be required to pay for his own defense?

Hi Shelby
Which part of “confidential report” don’t you understand?
I guess you won’t find it very soon out there on the web…
But I’ve found a report that may come close. You can find it here. It’s 3.4 Mb (98 pages), so may take some time for you to download
It’s from the COALITION FOR INTERNATIONAL JUSTICE, and titled FOLLOWING TAYLOR’S MONEY:
A PATH OF WAR AND DESTRUCTION (MAY 2005).
I found a shorter version (only the first 38 pages, without the very interesting appendixes) here.
Although, if you have some time, download the first one. I’ll give it a read myself too after my exams
Have fun mylady
