Hi! Great you’re back!
Are you sure that it was the fact that you are white scared the baby?
No, serious: I guess you’re right: When I was a little child an indonesian collegue of my father came for lunch at home, and me and my sisters scared the hell out of us!
It really is true. When I was in Senegal, I made babies cry all the time. The moms thought it was funny; I, of course, was horrified. It always took a couple of meetings before the babies would smile at me. And a couple of weeks ago, I was babysitting for a Togolese family here in Atlanta. And they’ve been here a while, but the mom and baby don’t get out much, and it happened again! And they’re so young, I wonder if it’s my color or my smell or my accent or what. Who knows?
