Cuttington University has been temporarily closed following student protests. I don’t completely understand what they were protesting. President Sirleaf travelled to Bong County to intervene. A somewhat informative article is here. It gives some reasons for the protests, but I’ve heard different things.

The Liberian and US governments have signed a military reform deal. “Under the agreement penned Wednesday, the United States will provide logistical aid to Liberia’s army during peacekeeping operations and Liberia in return will provide billeting and use of facilities during US-led exercises.” Article here. According to this article Liberia requested the US to have their recently-formed African Command based in Liberia.
