I’ll Pass on the Bush Meat

Cooking non-Liberian food in Liberia can be a challenge. For a Chinese New Year gathering last night, a friend made vegetable dumplings. Lacking a rolling pin, however, we resorted to glasses and wine bottles.

My apartment-mate and I are putting together a book on vegetarian cooking in Liberia. We will be including recipes that can be made given food available at local vegetable markets and supermarkets, and tips for making do with limited cooking appliances. We welcome contributions (recipes, tips, pictures, whatever). Please send them to shelbygrossman@gmail.com.
